All summer 2012 positions have been filled. Applications for fall or 2013 may be submitted anytime, though candidates will not be contacted until at least late summer.
General Internships
ISHR seeks interns to assist in ISHR’s offices with a variety of projects and programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist ISHR staff with assorted projects and programs, including preparations for the Human Rights Advocates Program, Summer Program, and other capacity building projects (info on each is available at http://hrcolumbia.org/)
- Conference and event planning
- Organize and maintain program information and materials, respond to inquiries and general correspondence.
- Handle publication sales and collect syllabi and course descriptions.
- Assist ISHR staff with day-to-day administrative tasks, such as answering telephones, fielding student and visitor inquiries, plus campus errands and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Office experience
- Interest in human rights and related topics
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Good at multitasking
- Good interpersonal skills
- Web-design experience and Knowledge of database software are also desired
